Concrete Work
Crescent Homes Maui Offers all Components of Quality Concrete Work
Concrete is a permanent and durable choice for many aspects of home construction. But the high-salt marine layer in a tropical climate like Hawaii’s can quickly degrade inferior concrete work and lead to an early and costly redo. That’s why it’s critical to select an experienced and skilled contractor to perform any foundation and hardscaping projects.
Range of Concrete Services
Crescent Homes does all types of concrete work including:
- New foundations, basements and footings
- Repairing existing foundations
- Removing old driveways
- New driveways and garage floors
- Walkways, steps and lanais
- New pools and pool decks
- Remodeling existing pools
- Retaining walls, benches and other custom masonry
- Stained and stamped concrete, exposed aggregate and other specialty concrete
Engineered for Quality
Sub-grade preparation is critical when laying concrete. Although the industry standard is a 4-inch rock base on stable soil, followed by 4 inches of concrete, we encourage clients to add 5 inches, which can really increase the life of your project. For proper drainage and avoiding puddles and saturation, the industry also specifies ¼-inch slope per foot away from all structures. Stamped concrete will require a greater slope.
If a site calls for additional measures, Crescent Homes can offer solutions such as formulating a stronger concrete mix, or installing rebar or wire mesh between the concrete and the rock base. Whatever your project requires, our estimators and engineering staff will work with you to ensure structural integrity at a cost-effective price.
Decorative Concrete Work
Crescent Homes Maui offers homeowners several options for adding an artistic touch to concrete and hardscaping. Among the options we offer is stained and stamped concrete, which now outpaces tile for durability and longevity. Our Chief Project Manager is an expert in the craft of adding a colored stain and a decorative imprint to create an effect that you might expect to see only in tile or wood.
Another popular choice for concrete projects is exposed aggregate, made with natural stones such as basalts, granite, quartz or limestone — and sometimes — even manufactured materials such as recycled colored glass. Exposed aggregate is nonskid, stands up to heavy traffic and harsh weather, and requires only occasional sealing and cleaning. It is available in many colors and textures and can be combined with other decorative concrete techniques.
If you’re inspired by Hawaii’s beaches, we can embed concrete hardscaping with multicolored pebbles, flagstones or even seashells. Whatever special touch you want to give your home, Crescent Homes will help you achieve your vision and create a stunning statement for your property.
Value Engineering
At Crescent Homes we use our relationships with national suppliers to obtain the most value for our clients. In addition to concrete work, we do both larger and smaller remodeling projects, which enables us to pass the pricing model of larger jobs along to smaller jobs and gives homeowners a market advantage.
We are Ohana
Crescent Homes is a family-owned company and vertically integrated. Therefore, this means that instead of relying on subcontractors we hire top-level professionals to run each of our self-performing divisions, including concrete, demolition, excavation, pool building, tile and underground utilities. As a result, projects run more smoothly and without cost-overruns. Just as importantly, projects are completed without delays. Residents familiar with Maui’s “island time” marketplace will appreciate that Crescent Homes beats the competition 2 to 1 in completion time!
